Qualifications



Michael Hollis, Principal of Hollis & Associates, brings over 35 years of experience in the areas of economics, finance and accounting to his forensic economics practice. His education includes an MBA in accounting from the Stanford Business School, an MA in economics from the Claremont Graduate University and a certification as an Accredited Valuation Analyst  from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Mr. Hollis has over 10 years experience as a testifying expert in lost wages and benefits as well as  business damages and valuations, primarily in Southern California.

 

Mr. Hollis has testified as to past and future wage and benefits damages on cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, wrongful termination, workplace discrimination, and medical malpractice. Historically our retentions are equally balenced between plaintiff and defense counsels. Hollis & Associates concurs with and abides by the Statement of Ethical Principles of Professional Practice as promugated by the National Association of Forensic Economists (NAFE), a copy of which can be downloaded from this page.

 

Affiliations

 

Hollis & Associates maintains informal referral relationships with several vocational rehabilitation and life-care planning experts throughout California as well as with several forensic accounting firms in Southern California. Since 2009 Mr. Hollis has worked closely with the Anderson Economic Group, LLC as an Affiliated Expert on cases of business valuation and commercial litigation. AEG is based in Lansing, Michgan and consults for public and private organizations including governments, corporations, non-profit organizations, trade associations and both large and small businesses.


Mr. Hollis is a long-time member of the American Economic Association, the Western Economic Association International, and the National Association of Business Economics, the three premier US professional economic associations. Mr. Hollis is also an active member of several labor and forensic economics associations including:

              American Academy of Economic and Financial Experts

 

              American Rehabilitation Economics Association

 

              Society of Labor Economists

 

as well as member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, the largest professional association of business valuation experts.
